Medical practitioner with specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care.
Dr Isaac Myers is a specialist anaesthetist with broad experience in anaesthesia, intensive care, and emergency and retrieval medicine. He provides anaesthesia for a wide range of patients and surgical specialties in both public and private practice, focusing on delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.
Dr Myers has special interests in regional anaesthesia, perioperative ultrasound, and emergency medicine. He values clear communication with patients and colleagues, and strongly emphasises minimising waste and working sustainably in theatre environments.
Originally from Australia, Dr Myers studied medicine at the prestigious Charité University in Berlin, graduating in 2014 with a medical degree and an MD-PhD. He trained at multiple hospitals in Berlin and became a specialist anaesthetist in 2020, followed by additional qualifications in critical care and prehospital emergency and retrieval medicine. In 2021, he received the German emergency medicine qualification. In 2022, he was awarded the European Diploma of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. Before returning to Australia in 2023, he worked in equal parts across anaesthesia, intensive care, and emergency retrieval services.
Now based in Brisbane, Dr Myers is a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist at QEII Jubilee Hospital and works across several private hospitals in south-east Queensland. He was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2024. In addition to his clinical work, he supervises medical students and trainee anaesthetists and holds a lecturer position with the University of Queensland.
Dr Myers is fascinated by human physiology and enjoys the opportunity anaesthesia provides to observe and respond to physiological changes in real time. He finds great satisfaction in reassuring his patients and guiding them safely through surgery. He also values the lasting impact of his emergency service work, supporting people during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives.
Dr Myers lives in Brisbane with his wife and three sons.
